What started out as an eTrade enquiry blossomed into a transparent and trusting conversation to achieve a mutual win.
A broker had initiated an enquiry online before being prompted to speak to one of our dedicated underwriters to progress. The initial conversation was around ensuring the trade selection was best fitted to the customer’s needs, both in terms of product and business activities.
Once the correct rating on the online platform was confirmed, the underwriter and broker had a very transparent trading conversation to ensure they were working collaboratively in order to win the business. Given the substantial nature of the risk, the senior underwriting team became involved to ensure the optimum risk management was in place – questioning existing risk management practices and identifying areas for improvement. One of our risk consultants also visited the site to provide risk management coaching support.
Although the broker was working to a tight timescale, we managed to collate the required information and gain a commitment to place cover, which was completed within three days. Following this successful collaboration, we gained the broker’s commitment and got cover placed for a further risk of around £2K, opening up the opportunity to quote for a larger risk towards the end of the calendar year.
